Papaya Maradol


Maradol papayas are available year-round.


Choose papayas that are heavy for their size and give a little when pressed. The skin should be mostly yellow without any major green patches. If you want to ripen the fruits at home, choose those that have more green than yellow in color.


Whole papayas can be stored at room temperature until ripe, then refrigerated for up to five days. Once cut, they should be covered and wrapped tightly in plastic wrap or placed in an airtight container before refrigerating. Papaya chunks can also be frozen for up to three months if desired.
