Seasons/Availability

Pinkglow™ pineapples are available year-round with limited quantities.

Current Facts

Pinkglow™ pineapples are of the species Ananas comosus. They are cultivated in Costa Rica, where a small cooperative of farmers have been dedicated to growing and harvesting this unique variety for over 75 years.

Nutritional Value

Pinkglow™ pineapples are rich in vitamin C and dietary fiber, as well as several other important nutrients. The fruit is known to contain anti-inflammatory compounds, which can aid in digestion and reduce inflammation in the body. Additionally, they provide a good source of manganese and copper, both essential minerals for the functioning of our body systems.

Storage

We recommend consuming Pinkglow™ pineapples within two days of purchase whenever possible. Store them in a cool, dry place with adequate air circulation and be sure to check for any signs of mold or decay before consuming. If the pineapple needs to be stored longer than two days, wrap it in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Preparing Pinkglow™ Pineapples

When preparing Pinkglow™ pineapples, it’s important to use a sharp knife so as not to puncture or tear the skin. Cut off the top of the pineapple first so that you can easily peel off the tough outer skin. Slice into rings and then cut each ring into smaller pieces if desired. Enjoy fresh or add to smoothies, salads, desserts, salsas, or other recipes.

To maximize the sweet flavor of Pinkglow™ pineapples, try grilling them! Cut pineapple into wedges and brush with a little olive oil before grilling for two to three minutes on each side over medium-high heat. Serve with grilled meats or fish for a delicious meal.

When it comes to storing leftover Pinkglow™ pineapple, remember that it should never be kept at room temperature for longer than two days. Store cut pieces in an airtight container in the refrigerator and eat within 3-4 days. Make sure that they are stored properly with adequate air circulation and check for any signs of mold or decay before consuming. If the pineapple needs to be stored longer than two days, it is best to freeze it in an airtight container. Frozen pineapple can be kept for up to three months.

When re-heating frozen Pinkglow™ pineapple, simply defrost and heat in a skillet with a little butter or olive oil. It can also be microwaved for 1-2 minutes until heated through. No matter which method you choose, make sure that the pineapple is evenly cooked and not too hot before eating. Enjoy!
