Current Facts
UGLI® fruits are botanically classified as Citrus reticulata x paradisi and belong to the Rutaceae family. They are a hybrid created between an un-named tangerine hybrid and grapefruit that were intercrossed in Jamaica in 1924, by H.B. Coulthard of the West India Gardens Ltd., Montego Bay. UGLI® is a registered trademark of Cabel Hall Citrus Limited located in Jamaica where it was first developed.
Applications
UGLI® fruits can be eaten fresh out-of-hand or sliced into salads or fruit cocktail cups, juiced, blended for smoothies or sorbets, grilled or broiled with honey and butter, or used to top desserts. They are also popular for home-canning and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

UGLI® fruits are rich in vitamin C, potassium, fiber, calcium and magnesium. They contain a variety of micronutrients including folate, pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) and carotene. UGLI® fruits also contain powerful antioxidants that can help reduce inflammation and protect against oxidative damage.

Storage Tips
UGLI® fruits should be stored at room temperature for up to two weeks. To avoid spoilage, it is best to store them in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. For maximum freshness, it is recommended to consume the fruit within seven days of purchase. If you must store it for longer than that, wrap the fruit in plastic or paper towels and place it in the refrigerator until ready to eat.
